What is Ergoflex®’s return policy?

Buying a mattress online is a big decision, which is why we offer a 30-night home trial on our Australian Ergoflex® mattress range.

If you’re not completely satisfied after sleeping on your mattress for 30 nights, you may return it for a full refund of the product price. Returns are free in most metro areas. A return fee applies for non-metro and regional locations.

Other product returns:

  • Pillows: 14-day return period. Items must be unused, unmarked, and returned in original packaging. Return freight is at the customer’s expense.
  • Sheets & mattress protectors: 14-day return period. For hygiene reasons, opened items cannot be returned unless there is a manufacturing fault.
  • Custom-made furniture (including bed frames): Not eligible for trial or return unless faulty.
  • UK-size mattresses & UK-size protectors: Not eligible for trial or return under any circumstances.
Is the 30-night trial available on all Ergoflex® products?

No. The 30-night trial applies only to the Ergoflex Australian mattress range.

The trial does not apply to:

  • Bed bases or bedroom furniture
  • Pillows, sheets, or mattress protectors
  • UK-size mattresses or UK-size protectors
How does the 30-night trial work?

Your 30-night trial begins on the day your mattress is delivered.

We ask that you sleep on your mattress for the full 30 nights, as your body may need time to adjust to a new sleep surface. This also helps reduce unnecessary environmental waste.

If you experience any issues, simply contact us during the trial period. You don’t need to return the mattress by day 30 - you just need to notify us within that timeframe.

At the end of the trial:

  • Most customers choose to keep their mattress
  • If you decide to return it, we will organise the collection
  • Mattresses are collected within 7–14 business days
  • Refunds are issued once the mattress is received (excluding initial delivery costs and any applicable return fees)

Why does Ergoflex® offer a 30-night trial instead of longer trials?

Ergoflex® has offered a 30-night trial since 2010 and was one of the first brands to introduce the ‘try at home’ mattress concept in Australia.

Based on years of customer feedback, we’ve found that 30 nights is sufficient for people to adjust to high-density memory foam and make an informed decision. While some brands promote longer trial periods, our experience shows that 30 nights is both practical and effective.

Is it free to return from all areas?

Free mattress returns apply within:

  • 50km of the CBD in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth
  • 30km of the CBD in Adelaide, Canberra, Darwin, Gold Coast, Newcastle, and Hobart
  • Central Coast, NSW

Free returns do not apply to regional or remote areas. For regional locations, estimated return fees range from $100 to $350, depending on your location. Please contact us for an exact quote before requesting a return.

Returns are not available from outlying islands, New Zealand or any international locations.

For details on delivery areas, return fees, and exclusions, visit our Delivery FAQs.

I live in a regional area do I need to organise my own return?

No. Unlike most online mattress brands, we manage the entire return process for you, even in regional areas. You won’t need to transport the mattress yourself or deliver it to a metro collection point.

Do I need to keep the packaging?

You do not need to keep the mattress box, as the mattress cannot be re-compressed once opened. If you purchase pillows, we recommend keeping the pillow boxes, as they are required to safely return pillows if needed.

Do I need to use a mattress protector during the trial?

Although not required, we strongly recommend using a mattress protector throughout your trial period. All returned mattresses must be in a clean, undamaged condition. Any stains, marks, odours, or damage may result in the return being declined.

What if I order the wrong mattress size?

If an incorrect mattress size is ordered, the 30-night trial does not apply.

If you request an exchange or cancellation due to ordering the wrong size, fees will apply and eligibility depends on the condition of the mattress:

If the mattress has not been opened and remains in its original box-packaging:
The mattress may be eligible for exchange or return, subject to approval. Applicable fees may include:

  • Delivery fee for the replacement mattress (if exchanging)
  • Return delivery fee for the original mattress
  • $7 booking fee for collection
  • $20 re-boxing fee

As we subsidise the initial delivery to you, return delivery fees may differ and can be higher. Initial delivery costs are non-refundable. This scenario is not covered by the 30-night trial.

If the mattress has been opened and/or does not fit your bed frame (and the issue is not due to an Ergoflex® error or incorrect advertised dimensions), any return or exchange is at the sole discretion of Ergoflex. If approved, additional fees will apply. Due to the mattress being full size, return fees can range between $100 and $500, plus a $7 booking fee. Exchange requests will also incur applicable delivery and return fees.

If an exchange or discretionary return is approved, this will be treated as your return under the 30-night trial, and no further trial returns will apply.

We strongly recommend checking your bed frame dimensions and room requirements before ordering. If you’re unsure which size is right for you, please contact us - we’re always happy to help before you buy.

Can I return my mattress before the 30 nights are over?

We ask customers to sleep on their mattress for the full 30-night trial period, as most comfort adjustment happens during this time - particularly with memory foam mattresses. Completing the trial also helps ensure a fair and genuine assessment of the product, given its nature and cost.

If you choose to return your mattress before the 30-night trial has ended, you may do so at your own expense. You have the following options:

  • You may arrange your own third?party collection and recycling at your cost, or
  • We can organise the return for you. In this case, you will be charged for the cost of returning the mattress, including the cost of supplying a protective return bag.

Returning a mattress early is not covered under the free return component of the 30-night trial.

If you experience issues during your trial period, we encourage you to contact us - in exceptional circumstances, we’ll assist wherever possible.

What condition must the mattress or pillows be in for return?

All returned items must be in original, good condition, free from stains, odours, or damage.

Photographic evidence is required before a collection is approved. Items returned in a noticeably soiled or damaged condition will not be accepted and may be returned to you.

What happens to returned mattresses or pillows?

Returned items are never resold as new. Where possible, they are donated to charity or rehomed locally in the Hunter Valley region.

How long does it take to receive my refund?

Refunds are processed within 72 hours of receiving the returned mattress or pillows and are issued to the original payment method.

Initial delivery costs are non-refundable.

What else should I know?
  • The 30-night trial is limited to one return mattress per household/customer
  • Customers must reasonably assist with repackaging using materials supplied during the return process
  • The trial is not available to businesses, landlords, hospitality operators, or industry-related parties
  • Pillows, sheets, and protectors must be returned at the customer’s expense
  • Manufacturing faults are handled under warranty and are not subject to trial conditions
  • We reserve the right to decline returns where misuse of the trial is suspected

For full details, please review our Terms & Conditions.
