What Is A Mattress-In-A-Box?
A mattress-in-a-box is a mattress that has been compressed and vacuum sealed to fit (rolled or folded) conveniently into a box. Setting up the mattress is as simple as laying it on the bed, opening the wrapping, and letting it unfurl.
A mattress-in-a-box takes the stress out of the delivery, storage, and installation of your mattress. It’s far easier than lugging a full-size conventional mattress. This means you can spend more time on your mattress and less time worrying about how to get it on your bed.
How Does A Mattress-In-A-Box Work?
Once you open the box and unpack the mattress, it will unroll and then expand to full size. A boxed mattress works just like a conventional mattress but with one big difference – it delivers better sleep and, in the case of Ergoflex, provides unrivalled support for your back.
Australia’s First Mattress-In-A-Box
Contrary to popular belief, the mattress-in-a-box concept is not new. Launching in the UK in 2006, Ergoflex was the first mattress-in-a-box brand in Australia, arriving way back in 2010.
As pioneers in the mattress industry we’ve been able to bring several firsts to the UK, European and Australian markets.

What Makes Ergoflex the Best Bed-In-a-Box?
Ergoflex is quite simply unmatched in quality and specification by any other brand of mattress-in-a-box. We are the only mattress-in-a-box brand in Australia that has been trading for longer than the 10-year warranty period that we offer with each mattress we sell. That means when we say our mattress will last, we can really mean it.
We have thousands and thousands of happy customers who have enjoyed their mattresses for over 10 years that can attest to the quality and longevity of our mattresses as well as our famously great customer service. These things combined are what makes us the best in the market and why people buy from us time and time again.
The fact our mattresses are conveniently boxed makes them easy to deliver, simple to handle and a breeze to set up in your bedroom. If you visit our location in the Hunter Valley, you can even take on away with you as our mattress will easily fit into your car.
Setting up your new Ergoflex mattress is so easy.
Simply remove the first layer of plastic packaging and allow the mattress to unfurl. Next, open the second layer of vacuum-sealed packaging. The mattress will immediately start the process of expanding to its natural depth and shape. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and watch the mattress appear before your eyes.
We know that purchasing a mattress is a significant decision. That’s why we offer a 30-day trial period and a free return option from metro areas. While most people fall in love with their Ergoflex after a night or two, we appreciate that some may take a little longer to adjust. So take your time and if it turns out Ergoflex is not for you, we’ll happily take it back.
But don’t worry, if you do choose to return your mattress, you won’t be asked to squeeze it back into its box. It’s impossible to do so without specialist machinery. We’ll collect your mattress in its full-sized state.
How To Choose The Right Mattress-In-A-Box
With so many mattress-in-a-box brands on the market claiming to be the best it’s easy to get overwhelmed and confused when trying to ascertain which one is the best for you.
Our ‘Questions to Ask’ guide will clarify some misconceptions, highlight the dubious ways some other brands attempt to get a sale and show you exactly how to determine whether a mattress will be right for your needs.
