General FAQs

Choosing The Right Mattress

What type of mattress is the Ergoflex 5G?

The Ergoflex 5G is a premium visco-elastic memory foam mattress designed to provide consistent support, pressure relief, and spinal alignment.

Comparable to Tempur®, it features a 9cm layer of high-density memory foam, combined with a Cool-Sleep™ airflow system and a stable support base, to deliver a balanced medium-firm feel and long-lasting performance.

You can view the full Ergoflex 5G mattress details to learn more about its construction, materials, and suitability for different sleepers.

What firmness level is the Ergoflex mattress?

The Ergoflex 5G has a medium-firm feel, rated at approximately 6-7 out of 10 on the firmness scale.

This firmness level offers a balance of comfort and support, helping keep the spine aligned while still allowing the mattress to contour naturally to your body.

This combination suits a broad range of sleep preferences, which is why customers in Australia and the UK find the feel comfortable and supportive over time.

Who is the Ergoflex mattress best suited for?

The Ergoflex mattress is best suited for people seeking supportive comfort and effective pressure relief.

It is commonly chosen by:

  • Back and side sleepers
  • People managing back, joint, or muscle pain
  • Couples seeking low motion transfer
  • Sleepers who prefer a medium-firm feel
  • Athletes looking to support recovery and consistent sleep quality
  • Parents seeking a supportive mattress for growing children

Ergoflex is also well suited to those looking for strong value for money, offering the quality and performance typically associated with premium in-store brands, without the compromises often found in lower-quality boxed mattresses.

What type of bed frame is the Ergoflex mattress suitable for?

The Ergoflex 5G memory foam mattress is compatible with most standard bed frames and bases, including:

  • Slatted bed frames (with slats no more than 7.5cm apart)
  • Solid platform bases
  • Ensemble / divan bases
  • Adjustable / electric bed frames

For optimal comfort, support, and durability, we recommend using a firm, supportive base. If using a slatted bed frame, evenly spaced slats help prevent sagging and ensure the mattress performs as intended. Using an appropriate bed base also helps maintain mattress longevity and supports warranty coverage.

If you’re unsure whether your existing bed frame is suitable, please call us on 1300 791 753 or contact us

Is the Ergoflex mattress good for back pain?

Yes. The Ergoflex mattress provides even support and balanced pressure relief, which helps promote a neutral sleeping position and reduce uneven pressure on the spine.

Ergoflex has been recognised through industry awards and is recommended by a wide range of health and wellness practitioners across Australia, including those working in physical therapy, chiropractic, and musculoskeletal care.

Many people choose Ergoflex for its ability to deliver consistent, everyday sleeping comfort and support that may help reduce back discomfort.

If you’d like to learn more about how the Ergoflex Mattress supports sleepers with back pain and promotes better spinal alignment, you can explore our back pain mattress guide.

How long does it take to adjust to an Ergoflex mattress?

Most people adjust to an Ergoflex mattress within 2-4 weeks.

This adjustment period allows the body to adapt to improved spinal support and pressure relief, particularly for sleepers switching from softer or spring based mattresses.

That’s exactly why we offer a 30-night trial, giving your body enough time to adjust and ensuring the mattress truly feels right for you in your own home.

How long do memory foam mattresses last compared to other mattress types?

Memory foam mattresses typically last longer than traditional spring mattresses, especially when higher?density foams are used. On average, a quality memory foam mattress can provide comfortable support for 10–12 years, while many spring mattresses begin to show signs of sagging or uneven support sooner as coils lose tension over time.

High?density memory foam is less prone to structural breakdown because it distributes body weight evenly rather than relying on individual pressure points. This helps maintain consistent support and comfort across the mattress surface for longer compared to lower?quality foam or coil?based constructions.

Why should I choose a memory foam mattress over a spring or hybrid mattress?

Memory foam mattresses offer superior body contouring and pressure relief compared to traditional spring or hybrid mattresses.

Compared to spring or hybrid designs, memory foam provides:

  • Improved spinal alignment
  • Reduced motion transfer
  • Even weight distribution
  • A quieter, more stable sleep surface

Unlike traditional spring mattresses, which can weaken over time as coils lose tension and begin to sag, memory foam mattresses are designed to distribute body weight evenly and maintain their shape for longer.

What is the difference between memory foam and latex mattresses?

The main difference between memory foam and latex mattresses lies in how they are made and how they respond to the body.

  • Memory foam is a visco-elastic material engineered to soften with body heat and pressure. It contours closely to the body, offering excellent pressure relief and minimal partner disturbance.
  • Latex is produced in a more elastic, rubber-based structure (natural, synthetic, or blended). It feels more responsive and buoyant, with faster rebound and less contouring.

Because of these differences, memory foam is often preferred for pain relief, pressure reduction, and motion isolation, while latex suits sleepers who prefer a more springy, responsive feel.

How does the Ergoflex 5G compare to other mattress-in-a-box brands?

The Ergoflex 5G differs from most mattress-in-a-box brands through its deeper memory foam layer and premium construction.

Key differences include:

  • A 9cm layer of high-density memory foam, thicker than most boxed mattresses
  • Design focused on spinal alignment and durability
  • Australian heritage as the original mattress-in-a-box brand
  • Designed to compete with premium brands such as Tempur®
  • Backed by a company with a longer trading history than its own 10-year warranty

These features result in a more supportive and longer-lasting sleep experience than many boxed alternatives.

Risk-free Trial & Returns

Can I try the Ergoflex mattress at home?

Yes. Ergoflex offers a 30-night home sleep trial, allowing you to experience the Ergoflex mattress under real home sleeping conditions before committing.

This gives your body time to adjust and helps you decide if the mattress suits your comfort and support needs in real-world conditions.

Why is the trial 30 nights?

Thirty nights is generally enough time for most people to determine whether a mattress suits their body and sleep preferences, including an adjustment period when transitioning from a different mattress type.

In many cases, extended trial periods can lead to higher mattress prices due to increased return costs. We keep pricing straightforward rather than building the cost of longer trials into the product.

Is it free to return an Ergoflex mattress?

Yes. It’s free to return your Ergoflex mattress from most metropolitan areas. Returns from regional areas are also possible but may be subject to a return fee.

The 30-night trial and free return service is limited to one mattress return per household.

This helps us keep our pricing fair while still offering a genuinely risk-free trial.

For more detailed information about delivery, costs, and timeframes, please see Ergoflex Delivery.

How do I know if return fees apply to my location?

Free returns are available from most metropolitan areas. If you live outside a metro area, return costs may apply and would be deducted from your refund.

As delivery areas vary, we recommend checking your postcode on our Delivery page or contacting our team to confirm whether return fees apply to your address before purchasing.

Can I return the mattress before the trial ends?

To ensure a fair and meaningful trial, the mattress must be used for the full 30 nights before a return can be processed.

This adjustment period is important, as it allows your body time to adapt to a new mattress, particularly when transitioning to memory foam. Many initial comfort concerns resolve naturally during this period, helping you make a more informed decision based on real sleep experience rather than first impressions.

Once the 30-night trial period has been completed, clear and simple instructions are provided to guide you through the return process if needed.

What condition must the mattress be in to return?

All returned mattresses must be clean, hygienic, and free from stains. Mattresses that are damaged, or soiled will not be accepted and may be returned to you.

Using an Ergoflex mattress protector during the trial period is strongly recommended to help protect the mattress and ensure return eligibility.

Do I need to keep the original box?

No. The mattress does not need to be returned in its original packaging. Once unboxed, mattresses cannot be compressed again.

If you decide to return your mattress, we will send you a large protective bag to place the mattress in, helping keep it clean and protected during its return journey to us.

What happens to returned mattresses?

Returned mattresses are never resold as new.

Where suitable, returned mattresses are donated to charitable organisations, including women’s refuges, or repurposed for use in caravans or short-stay accommodation such as Airbnbs. When reuse isn’t possible, mattresses are recycled or disposed of responsibly.

This allows returned mattresses to be put to good use while minimising waste wherever possible.

When will I receive my refund?

Refunds are processed once the return has been completed and confirmed. Processing times depend on the original payment method and banking timeframes.

Mattress Materials & Design

What makes the Ergoflex memory foam mattress different?

The Ergoflex mattress is designed to provide balanced support, pressure relief, and durability using high-density memory foam rather than springs or soft comfort foams.

Instead of offering multiple models with minor variations, Ergoflex focuses on a single refined design that delivers consistent comfort, long-term performance, and value.

Learn more about the Ergoflex Mattress.

What materials are used in the Ergoflex mattress?

The Ergoflex mattress is made from high-density memory foam, layered to create a supportive and comfortable sleep surface.

Unlike many boxed mattresses that use off-the-shelf foam formulations, Ergoflex uses a custom-specified memory foam developed specifically for our mattress design. This allows us to control how the foam responds to weight, pressure, and temperature, rather than relying on generic foams used across multiple brands.

Each layer of our mattress plays a specific role in weight distribution, pressure relief, and durability, helping the mattress maintain its shape, support, and feel over time.

What is memory foam density and why does it matter?

Memory foam density affects how supportive, durable, and long-lasting a mattress will be.

Higher-density foam generally offers better pressure relief and resists sagging for longer, which is why memory foam mattresses can vary significantly in quality and price.

For more information, read our guide to memory foam.

How does the Ergoflex mattress compare to inner spring mattresses?

Unlike inner spring mattresses, which rely on coils that push back against your body, the Ergoflex memory foam mattress contours to your shape and distributes weight more evenly.

This helps reduce pressure points on areas such as the shoulders, hips, and lower back, while also providing a more stable sleep surface. Many sleepers find this especially beneficial for comfort, support, and reduced movement disturbance, particularly for side sleepers and couples.

Does the Ergoflex mattress provide zero partner disturbance?

Yes. The Ergoflex mattress is designed to absorb movement at its source, which helps minimise motion transfer across the mattress.

This means movements such as turning over or getting in and out of bed are far less likely to travel across the sleep surface, reducing disruption to a partner. This makes Ergoflex a popular choice for couples and light sleepers.

I get warm at night - is the Ergoflex mattress suitable for hot sleepers?

The Ergoflex mattress is designed to provide supportive comfort without excessive heat retention.

It features a breathable Tencel® cover and a dedicated Cool-Sleep™ airflow system that allows for airflow and temperature regulation. The high-density memory foam also responds gradually to body weight and temperature, helping avoid the overly soft or ‘sinking’ feel that can restrict airflow and trap heat in lower-quality foams.

Most customers find this combination creates a more stable and comfortable sleep temperature throughout the night.

Are Ergoflex mattresses suitable for adjustable and electric bed bases?

Yes. The Ergoflex mattress is suitable for use with adjustable and electric bed bases, as well as most standard bed frames.

Its flexible foam construction allows the mattress to bend and move smoothly with the base without compromising comfort, support, or structural integrity.

Thousands of customers across Australia successfully use their Ergoflex mattress in this way.

Are Ergoflex mattresses suitable for people with allergies or asthma?

The Ergoflex mattress is hypoallergenic and naturally resistant to dust mites and common allergens.

This makes it a suitable option for people who prefer a cleaner sleeping environment and want to minimise exposure to allergy-related irritants in the bedroom.

Is the Ergoflex memory foam mattress certified?

Yes. All foams used in Ergoflex mattresses are CertiPUR-US® certified, confirming they meet strict standards for material safety, low emissions, and responsible manufacturing.

Ergoflex is also a European mattress retailer by design, and our mattresses are developed and tested to meet European quality and safety standards, which are widely regarded as among the most stringent mattress standards in the world.

Together, these certifications and testing requirements help ensure the materials used in Ergoflex mattresses meet high benchmarks for durability, emissions, and overall product safety.

Is there a weight limit for the Ergoflex mattress?

The Ergoflex mattress is designed to comfortably support individuals weighing up to 114kg, or a combined sleeper weight of up to 190kg.

It features a dense, high-resilience foam base engineered to provide stability, durability, and even weight distribution across the mattress surface. This design helps maintain consistent support and comfort when used within the recommended weight guidelines.

While we do have customers of equal or greater stature who use the Ergoflex mattress, those who exceed these guidelines may find the mattress feels slightly softer and may sleep warmer due to increased foam compression. Use outside these guidelines may also place the mattress outside the scope of the Ergoflex warranty.

Please refer to the Ergoflex warranty for more information.

How long does the Ergoflex mattress last?

With appropriate care and a suitable, supportive bed base, the Ergoflex mattress is designed to provide many years of consistent comfort and support.

The Ergoflex™ 5G is constructed using high-density visco-elastic memory foam, selected specifically for its durability and ability to retain shape and performance over time. This higher-density foam resists sagging better than lower-density alternatives commonly found in mass market mattresses-in-a-box, helping maintain supportive properties over the long term.

The quality of these materials is backed by our 10-year guarantee on every Ergoflex mattress. This warranty isn’t just a claim, it has been tried and tested by real customers since 2006, making Ergoflex one the longest-established memory foam mattress-in-a-box brands in Australia. Many customer reviews come from people who have slept comfortably on their Ergoflex mattresses for well over 10 years, reflecting the long-term durability of its design.

Why do memory foam mattresses vary so much in price?

Price variations are largely driven by differences in foam density, material quality, and overall construction.

Lower-priced memory foam mattresses often use softer, lower-density foams that may wear out more quickly. Higher quality mattresses typically use denser foams designed to maintain support, comfort, and durability over time, offering better long-term value.

Will regular sheets fit the Ergoflex mattress?

Yes. The Ergoflex 5G mattress has a height of 23cm, so it fits standard fitted sheets with ease.

Most sheets designed for mattresses of this size will fit comfortably. Our own Ergoflex Organic Sheet Sets are specifically designed to pair perfectly with the Ergoflex mattress.

The mattress is also compatible with most standard bed frames and bases, including slatted, ensemble, and electric.

Caring For Your Mattress

What is the best way to care for my Ergoflex mattress?

Your Ergoflex mattress and your night’s sleep is an investment worth protecting. With simple, regular care, your mattress will continue to deliver the comfort, support, and performance it was designed for over many years.

Everyday life can bring unexpected spills, pets sharing the bed, or the occasional late-night accident. Even moisture from humidity and perspiration can affect a mattress over time if left unprotected.

To protect your mattress we recommend purchasing the Ergoflex-LIFE™ Tundra Mattress Protector. Fully waterproof, breathable and natural, Ergoflex-LIFE™ is the best way to guard your Ergoflex memory foam mattress from the realities of everyday life.

Do I have to flip my Ergoflex memory foam mattress?

No. Ergoflex memory foam mattresses are single-sided by design and should not be flipped.

Unlike traditional spring mattresses that rely on coils and may require flipping to reduce uneven wear, the Ergoflex mattress is constructed with a layered design. The visco-elastic memory foam comfort layer is built to sit on top, with the supportive base layers beneath. Flipping the mattress would compromise its comfort and support.

Should I rotate my Ergoflex mattress?

Yes. To promote even wear and help maintain optimal performance, we recommend rotating your Ergoflex mattress head-to-toe (180°):

  • Once a month for the first 6 months
  • Every 3 months thereafter

This simple step helps distribute body weight more evenly across the sleep surface and supports the long-term durability of the memory foam. Using the mattress without periodic rotation may impact performance over time and can affect warranty coverage. For full warranty terms, please refer to our Guarantee & Registration.

Can I wash my Ergoflex memory foam mattress?

No. The memory foam core itself should never be washed or soaked, as doing so can damage the internal structure of the mattress.

However, the Ergoflex 5G features a removable TENCEL® outer cover, which can be:

  • Machine washed on a cold, gentle cycle
  • Line dried or tumble dried on a low heat setting

For ongoing protection against liquid damage and everyday accidents, using the Ergoflex-LIFE Tundra mattress protector is strongly recommended. This helps preserve hygiene while minimising the need to remove and wash the cover frequently.

Can I purchase a replacement cover for my Ergoflex mattress?

Yes. Replacement outer covers for Ergoflex mattresses are available in all sizes.

At this time, replacement covers are not sold directly through our website. If you need a replacement cover due to wear, damage, or loss, please contact us directly and can assist you with availability, sizing, and ordering.

Using a genuine Ergoflex replacement cover ensures the mattress continues to perform as intended, maintaining breathability, comfort, and proper fit.

How do I keep my Ergoflex mattress free from dust mites and allergens?

Unlike traditional spring mattresses, which have hollow interiors that can trap dust, skin cells, and moisture, Ergoflex memory foam mattresses use a solid, layered core design. This construction is far less hospitable to dust mites and other allergens.

In addition:

  • All Ergoflex mattresses are anti?allergenic
  • Materials are hypoallergenic and anti?microbial
  • Suitable for people with allergies or asthma

Regularly washing the removable cover, using a breathable mattress protector, and rotating the mattress as recommended will help maintain a clean and healthy sleep environment.

Should I air my Ergoflex mattress when I first receive it?

You don’t need to air your Ergoflex mattress before using it. It can be slept on the same night it’s unpacked.

Once removed from its packaging, simply place the mattress on a suitable bed base and allow it to begin expanding. While the mattress will be comfortable and ready for use straight away, it may continue to fully expand and settle over the following 24 hours.

Any mild “new mattress” smell is harmless and temporary, and will naturally dissipate with normal room ventilation. Keeping the room aired and the bedding off for a short period can help this process, but it isn’t required before sleeping on the mattress.

What type of bed base should I use to support my Ergoflex mattress?

The Ergoflex mattress should be used on a supportive, flat bed base to ensure correct performance and longevity.

Suitable bases include:

  • Slatted bed frames with evenly spaced slats
  • Platform bed bases
  • Ensemble or divan bases
  • Adjustable or electric bed bases designed for foam mattresses

Slats should be in good condition and spaced closely enough to provide even support across the mattress surface. Using an unsuitable or damaged base can affect comfort, performance, and durability, and may impact warranty coverage. For best results, ensure your base is sturdy, level, and designed to properly support a memory foam mattress.

Can I use my Ergoflex mattress on the floor?

No. We do not recommend using your Ergoflex mattress directly on the floor.

Ergoflex mattresses are designed to be used on a supportive bed base that provides adequate airflow beneath the mattress. Placing the mattress directly on the floor restricts ventilation and can lead to a build-up of heat, moisture, and condensation over time. This may affect hygiene, comfort, and the long-term performance of the memory foam.

What should I do if my mattress gets wet accidentally?

If your mattress becomes wet, act promptly to minimise moisture exposure:

  • Remove all bedding and allow the mattress to air dry naturally
  • Place the mattress in a well-ventilated room
  • Avoid heat sources such as hair dryers or heaters
  • Do not soak or machine wash the mattress core

The memory foam layers should never be saturated, as excess moisture can damage the internal structure. Using a breathable, waterproof mattress protector is the best way to guard against spills, accidents, and everyday moisture.

How can I maintain my mattress while staying within warranty guidelines?

To keep your Ergoflex mattress performing at its best and remain within warranty guidelines, we recommend:

  • Using the mattress on a suitable, supportive bed base
  • Rotating the mattress head-to-toe monthly for the first 6 months, then every 3 months thereafter
  • Keeping the mattress clean and dry
  • Using a breathable mattress protector to protect against spills and moisture
  • Washing the removable outer cover only as recommended
  • Avoiding flipping, folding, or bending the mattress unnecessarily

Following these care guidelines helps ensure even wear, maintains comfort and support, and protects your warranty. Full warranty terms can be found in our Guarantee & Registration.

Can I transport my Ergoflex mattress if I move house?

Yes, the Ergoflex mattress can be transported when moving house, provided it is handled with care.

When transporting your mattress, we recommend:

  • Keeping it flat wherever possible
  • Using protective covering to guard against dirt and moisture
  • Avoiding folding, bending, or tightly rolling the mattress
  • Ensuring the mattress is well supported during transport

The mattress should not be re-compressed or vacuum sealed once unpacked, as this differs from the controlled factory compression process and may damage the internal foam structure. Improper handling during transport can affect the mattress’s performance and may impact warranty coverage.

How should I store my Ergoflex mattress?

If you need to store your Ergoflex mattress for a period of time, it’s important to do so correctly to protect its structure and performance.

We recommend storing the mattress:

  • Flat, rather than upright or folded
  • In a dry, well-ventilated environment
  • Away from direct heat sources or excessive moisture
  • With no heavy items placed on top

The mattress should not be folded, bent, or stored on its side for extended periods, as this can affect the memory foam layers over time. For best results, keep the mattress uncovered or loosely covered with a breathable fabric to allow airflow during storage.

Correct storage helps maintain the integrity of the foam and ensures the mattress performs as intended when returned to use.

Warranty & Guarantees

How can I maintain my mattress while staying within warranty guidelines?

To remain within warranty guidelines and ensure your Ergoflex mattress performs as intended, it’s important to follow a few simple care and usage requirements.

These include using the mattress on a suitable, supportive bed base, rotating it as recommended, keeping it clean and dry, and avoiding misuse. We also strongly recommend using the Ergoflex mattress protector to guard against liquid damage and general wear.

Following these guidelines helps ensure even wear, maintains comfort and support, and protects your warranty coverage. Full warranty terms can be found in our 10-Year Guarantee.

What does the Ergoflex 10-year warranty cover?

The Ergoflex 10-year warranty covers manufacturing faults and material defects that arise under normal household use.

This includes issues relating to workmanship or the integrity of the mattress materials when the product has been used correctly and in accordance with care and support guidelines. The warranty reflects the high-quality materials and construction used in every Ergoflex mattress.

What is not covered under the Ergoflex warranty?

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear over time
  • Comfort preference changes
  • Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, or improper handling
  • Use on an unsuitable or unsupportive bed base
  • Liquid damage or staining
  • Failure to follow care and rotation guidelines
  • Commercial use

These exclusions are standard across mattress warranties and help ensure the warranty applies fairly and consistently.

Does the warranty cover sagging or body impressions?

The warranty covers defects that go beyond normal and expected use. Over time, it is natural for mattresses to show some degree of body impression, particularly in areas of regular use.

However, significant sagging caused by a manufacturing fault may be assessed under warranty, provided the mattress has been used correctly, supported properly, and maintained in line with the care guidelines. All warranty assessments are conducted in accordance with the terms outlined in our Guarantee.

Can my bed base or usage affect my warranty?

Yes. Using your Ergoflex mattress on an unsuitable, damaged, or unsupportive bed base can affect both performance and warranty coverage.

Your mattress should be placed on a flat, stable base that provides consistent support across the entire surface. Improper use or using it without adequate support may impact warranty eligibility.

Is there a weight limit that affects warranty coverage?

The Ergoflex mattress is designed to comfortably support individuals weighing up to 114kg, or a combined sleeper weight of up to 190kg. Use beyond these guidelines may affect performance over time and can place the mattress outside the scope of warranty coverage.

While some customers above these limits may still find the mattress comfortable, exceeding the recommended weight limits can result in increased foam compression, which may impact durability and long-term support.

Do I need to register my mattress for warranty coverage?

Yes. To ensure your warranty is activated and to make any future claims easier, we recommend registering your Ergoflex mattress shortly after purchase.

Registration confirms your ownership details and allows our support team to assist you more efficiently if warranty service is ever required. Registration details and instructions are available in our Guarantee & Registration.

Is the Ergoflex warranty transferable?

No. The Ergoflex warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable if the mattress is sold, gifted, or transferred to another owner.

This ensures warranty coverage remains clear and consistent, and that claims can be properly assessed against original purchase records.

How long does an Ergoflex mattress typically last?

With appropriate care and proper support, an Ergoflex mattress is designed to deliver many years of consistent comfort and support.

The use of high-density visco-elastic memory foam helps the mattress retain its structure and performance longer than lower-density alternatives commonly found in mass-market mattresses. Many Ergoflex customers report sleeping comfortably on their mattresses well beyond the 10-year mark, reflecting the durability of the materials and the long?term refinement of the Ergoflex design.

Why Buy From Ergoflex?

Why buy an Ergoflex mattress online without trying it first?

Buying a mattress online can feel like a big decision, especially if you’re used to testing beds in a store. With Ergoflex, that uncertainty is reduced by a combination of proven design, real-world experience, and a risk-free home trial.

Ergoflex has been helping people sleep better since 2006, making it one of the longest-established memory foam mattress brands in Australia. Unlike brands that frequently change models, Ergoflex focuses on refining a single mattress design, now in its fifth generation, based on long-term customer feedback and performance.

Your body also needs time to adjust to a new mattress, something a quick showroom test can’t always replicate. Sleeping on a mattress in your own home allows you to properly experience its comfort, support, and feel over consecutive nights. That’s why every Ergoflex mattress comes with a 30-night home trial, so you can decide with confidence.

Ergoflex is also backed by thousands of genuine customer reviews, many from people who have slept on their Ergoflex mattresses for years.

Can I try the mattress at home before committing?

Yes. All Ergoflex Australian mattress sizes come with a 30-night home trial, allowing you to experience the mattress in your own home before making a final decision.

We ask customers to sleep on the mattress for the full trial period, as it can take time for your body to adjust to a new sleep surface. If you have any concerns during the trial, our team is available to assist.

Eligibility and return conditions vary by product and location. View full details about how the 30-night trial works, including eligibility and return conditions.

Does Ergoflex have a showroom?

Yes. You’re welcome to visit our Hunter Valley showroom in NSW, where you can try the Ergoflex mattress in person.

Customers regularly visit us from the Hunter, Central Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, and surrounding areas. In our showroom, you can:

  • Touch, feel, and lie on the Ergoflex mattress

  • Ask questions at your own pace
  • Even take a mattress home with you the same day

Why doesn't Ergoflex sell mattresses in retail stores?

From the beginning, our goal has been to simplify and improve the mattress-buying experience.

By selling directly to customers instead of through retail stores, we avoid the high overheads associated with showrooms, commissions, and middlemen. This allows us to focus our investment on:

  • Better materials
  • Fairer pricing
  • Direct customer support

Any savings are passed directly on to our customers - without compromising product quality.

Why don't I see Ergoflex advertised on TV?

We’ve chosen not to rely on venture capital or large advertising budgets, as this cost ultimately gets passed on to customers.

Instead, Ergoflex has grown through word-of-mouth and customer recommendations, supported by long-term product performance and service. Many customers discover us through reviews or personal referrals, something we value highly.

You can read verified feedback and real customer experiences in our Customer Reviews.

Why is there only one Ergoflex mattress?

Many mattress brands offer multiple models and firmness options in an attempt to cater to everyone. Over time, this often leads to compromise — thinner comfort layers, frequent model changes, and designs that are optimised for marketing rather than long?term performance.

Ergoflex takes a different approach. Instead of creating multiple mattresses, we focus on perfecting one proven design.

The Ergoflex™ 5G has been refined over multiple generations using real?world customer feedback and long?term performance data, rather than short?term trends. Its carefully balanced construction is designed to support a wide range of sleeping positions, body types, and comfort preferences without the need for softer or firmer variations.

Memory foam also behaves differently from traditional spring systems. It responds to body weight and temperature, allowing the mattress to contour and adapt naturally to each sleeper. This adaptability reduces the need for multiple firmness options, as the mattress adjusts to the individual rather than forcing the sleeper to fit a fixed feel.

By concentrating on a single, high?quality mattress, Ergoflex is able to use higher?density materials, maintain consistent quality, and avoid unnecessary complexity. The result is a mattress that has stood the test of time, with many customers sleeping comfortably on their Ergoflex mattresses for a decade or more.

What makes Ergoflex different from other mattress-in-a-box brands?

Buying a mattress is a long-term decision, and the quality of your experience depends just as much on who you buy from as the product itself.

Ergoflex was established well before the recent rise of online mattress start-ups. Unlike many newer brands that are still refining their products or focused on rapid growth, we bring:

  • A long and proven trading history
  • Products developed and refined over many years
  • Real-world performance data from thousands of customers
  • A warranty backed by genuine longevity, not just a promise

This experience allows us to focus on consistent quality, durability, and customer support, rather than short-term trends or aggressive marketing. For you, that means greater confidence in the product, the warranty, and the company behind it.

Who is Ergoflex®?

Ergoflex® is the original premium mattress-in-a-box brand, established in 2006 and launched in Australia in 2010.

We pioneered the direct-to-consumer mattress model that much of the industry now follows, combining premium materials with transparent pricing and traditional customer service.

Today, we offer a range of carefully designed sleep products, including:

  • A premium memory foam mattress
  • Upholstered bed heads and bed bases
  • Memory foam pillows
  • Sheets and waterproof mattress protectors
How long has Ergoflex been in Australia?

Ergoflex has been operating in Australia since 2010, making us the country’s longest-established boxed mattress brand.

When we launched, high-quality memory foam mattresses were often overpriced and out of reach for many consumers. We introduced Australia’s first mattress-in-a-box concept to make premium sleep more accessible, without compromising on materials or service.

We’re proud that Ergoflex has now been trading longer than the length of our 10-year warranty, something no other mattress-in-a-box brand worldwide can claim. That longevity gives customers added confidence that our products, and our business, stand the test of time.

Is Ergoflex an Australian-owned company?

Ergoflex Australia is locally owned and operated, with our team based in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Our customer support and distribution are managed here in Australia, and we deliver our products Australia wide.

While our Australian business operates independently, the Ergoflex brand was originally established in the UK in 2006. This means our customers benefit from local Australian service and support, combined with the experience, product development, and heritage of a long-established international brand.

Why does Ergoflex focus so strongly on customer service?

From day one, we’ve believed that buying a mattress online should still feel personal, informed, and supported and not transactional or rushed.

Our team takes the time to listen and understand what each customer is looking for, whether that’s help choosing the right mattress, understanding how our sleep products work, or getting support after purchase. Ordering, Delivery & Setup

How can I order?

You can place an order either online through our website or over the phone.

Ordering online:
Simply add your items to cart and complete checkout. Once your order is placed, you’ll receive an order confirmation email outlining your purchase and delivery details. Your order is then prepared for dispatch from our warehouse, and you’ll receive updates once it’s scheduled or handed to the courier.

Ordering by phone:
If you’d like personalised assistance, we can help you place your order over the phone, confirm your details, and answer any questions you may have. You’ll receive the same order confirmation and delivery updates as online orders.

If you need to make a change or have a question after ordering, we are always happy to help.
You can call us 7 days a week, from 8am to 8pm, on 1300 791 753.

Are Ergoflex products in stock?

Yes. Ergoflex products are held in stock in Australia and ready for dispatch. If an item is temporarily unavailable, this will be clearly communicated at the time of ordering or by our customer care team.

How soon can I receive my order?

Delivery timeframes vary depending on your location and the items ordered. Metro deliveries are typically faster, while regional and remote areas may take longer.

For most customers, we offer next business day delivery. Orders placed Monday to Thursday before 2:00pm can usually be delivered within 24 hours to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra.

Estimated delivery times are outlined on our Delivery page, and we’ll keep you informed with tracking and updates once your order is on its way.

Do you deliver to regional or remote areas?

Yes. We deliver Australia-wide, including many regional and remote areas.

Delivery timeframes and available services may vary depending on your location and courier access. In some remote areas, delivery may take a little longer or differ from metro services.

If you’re unsure whether your address is covered or would like more specific delivery information, we are happy to help.

Can I choose the delivery time or date?

Regular Delivery Service
When placing your order, you can select a delivery date, however a specific delivery time cannot be nominated.

On the morning of your scheduled delivery, you’ll be able to track your item online via our courier’s website and view an estimated delivery time window. This window will continue to narrow as the day progresses.

Timed Delivery Service (Metro Areas Only)
If regular delivery is not convenient, we also offer a timed and after-hours delivery service within metro areas for a small additional fee. This allows you to choose both a delivery date and a time window.
Timed delivery is available in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney

To arrange this service, simply select the after-hours delivery option at checkout. Our team will then contact you to discuss and confirm your preferred delivery time.

Can I change or reschedule my delivery date?

Yes. In many cases, delivery dates can be changed before your order has been dispatched. Once your order is with the courier, rescheduling will depend on courier availability and policies.

If you need to make a change, please contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to assist.

Will the courier call before delivering my order?

Unfortunately, the courier completing our regular delivery service is unable to call prior to delivery. However, on the morning of your scheduled delivery, you can track your item online via the courier’s website and view an estimated delivery time window. This time window will continue to narrow as the day progresses.

For customers who select our timed or after-hours delivery service, the process is different. The courier will contact you prior to delivery to confirm timing and ensure delivery occurs within your selected time window. This provides greater certainty and helps ensure someone is available to receive the delivery.

What happens if I am not home when my Ergoflex mattress is delivered?

If you are not home at the time of delivery and no Authority to Leave (ATL) has been provided, the courier will leave a card with your consignment details and instructions on how to contact them to arrange re-delivery.

In this instance, please contact the courier within 24 hours, as goods not re-scheduled for delivery may be returned to Ergoflex.

Can my mattress be left somewhere safe if I am not home?

Yes. For all house deliveries, an automatic Authority to Leave (ATL) is applied, allowing the courier to leave your order in a safe and secure location where possible.

For units or apartment addresses, an automatic ATL does not apply. If you would like the item left without a signature, you can contact the courier directly using the details provided in your dispatch notification to arrange an Authority to Leave.

Please note if you provide the courier with an Authority to Leave (ATL) directly, responsibility for the delivery transfers to the recipient once the item has been left.

Will the courier bring the items into my property?

Regular delivery is to the front door only. For insurance reasons, couriers are unable to carry items upstairs, enter the home, or manoeuvre through tight internal spaces. For apartments, access restrictions may apply and delivery will be limited to the building’s main entry point.

With our timed or after-hours service, the courier can deliver the item inside your home and, if required, carry it to your room of choice and assist with basic setup. This service is designed for homes or apartments where internal access, stairs, or additional handling is required, and provides a more tailored delivery experience within your selected time window.

Do you take my old mattress away?

No, old mattress removal is not included as part of our standard delivery service.

However, we work with mattress recycling companies across most metro areas and are happy to organise mattress delivery, in-home setup, and mattress recycling on your behalf for an additional fee.

Simply call us on 1300 791 753, and our team will explain the process, confirm pricing based on your location, and arrange everything for you.

Do you offer mattress setup on delivery?

Our regular delivery service does not include setup or installation. Mattresses are delivered compressed and boxed and can be easily moved into place before unpacking. Clear setup instructions are included to help you get started quickly.

With our timed or after-hours delivery service, mattress setup can be included. This service allows the courier to bring the mattress into your home, place it in your room of choice, and assist with setup if required. If you’d like help arranging a timed delivery with setup, our team can guide you through the options and pricing based on your location.

How are Ergoflex bed frames delivered?

Ergoflex bed frames are delivered fully assembled by specialist furniture removal companies. As the frames arrive in one piece, minimal assembly is required.

Delivery timeframes for bed frames may differ slightly from mattresses, depending on your location and delivery availability.

How is my mattress protector delivered if purchased on its own?

Mattress protectors ordered on their own are dispatched separately via Australia Post. Tracking details will be provided once your order has shipped.

When ordered with a mattress, protectors are usually packed inside the mattress box or with any pillows ordered.

What should I check when my delivery arrives?

During delivery, we recommend checking:

  • The box for any visible external damage
  • That all items ordered have arrived
  • That the packaging labels match your order

Please check the mattress size carefully before removing it from the box, as once a mattress has been unpacked it cannot be returned to its original packaging.

Please note that the outer boxes may show signs of wear or damage from transit. This is normal and does not necessarily indicate damage to the mattress itself. Our boxes are specifically designed to absorb impact and protect the product during its journey, so damaged packaging alone is not a reason to refuse delivery.

If you notice any issues after delivery, please contact our Customer Care Team as soon as possible and we’ll be happy to assist.

If you’ve ordered a mattress protector, it will usually be packed together with any pillows ordered, or inside the mattress box. Please ensure you unpack everything fully before assuming an item is missing.

What happens if my order arrives damaged?

Our mattresses and accessories are carefully packaged to protect them during transit, and outer packaging may show signs of wear without affecting the product inside.

If you believe your item has been damaged, please contact us immediately and provide photos where possible. Do not open the mattress or remove it from its plastic packaging, as once unpacked it cannot be re-boxed or re-compressed.

We’ll assess the issue promptly and work with you to resolve it.

Pillows, Protectors & Sheets

What makes the Ergoflex memory foam pillow different?

The Ergoflex memory foam pillow is designed to provide adaptive, targeted support for the head and neck throughout the night. Unlike standard pillows that compress or lose loft, the high-density memory foam responds gradually to heat and pressure, allowing it to contour to your individual shape. This helps maintain proper spinal alignment and reduces pressure points, which can contribute to improved comfort and sleep quality over time.

Learn more about the Ergoflex Memory Foam Pillow.

What is the Ergoflex memory foam pillow made from?

The Ergoflex pillow is made from premium visco-elastic memory foam, selected for its durability, responsiveness, and originally developed for the Ergoflex 5G mattress. The foam core is encased in a removable, breathable fabric cover that helps promote airflow and assists with temperature regulation while protecting the foam inside.

Is the Ergoflex pillow suitable for all sleep positions?

The Ergoflex memory foam pillow is designed to suit most back and side sleepers, offering a balanced combination of support and pressure relief. It is also popular with freestyle sleepers who change positions throughout the night. Its adaptive design responds to different sleeping postures and body shapes, helping promote consistent neck and head support.

In addition to traditional use, many people also use the pillow to provide comfort and support under the lower back, between or under the arms, or beneath the legs while resting or sleeping. While comfort preferences naturally vary between individuals, the pillow is engineered to accommodate a broad range of support needs.

Does the Ergoflex pillow fit a standard pillowcase?

Yes. The Ergoflex™ pillow measures 65?cm ×?45?cm x 12 cm, which fits standard Australian pillowcases. However, because memory foam requires airflow to contour correctly, we recommend using a slightly larger pillowcase where possible. This allows the pillow to move and shape freely, helping it perform at its best and maintain comfort throughout the night.

Does the Ergoflex memory foam pillow come with a guarantee?

Yes. The Ergoflex memory foam pillow is guaranteed against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 2 years. This guarantee provides assurance that the pillow has been manufactured to a high standard and is designed to retain its structural integrity during normal use. The returns period for pillows is 14 days.

Can I return my memory foam pillow if I don’t like it?

Yes. If you decide the pillow is not right for you, you must contact us within 14 days of delivery to request a return. Pillows must be returned within 30 days, at your own expense, and must be unstained, undamaged, and packaged securely to prevent damage during transit. For hygiene reasons, any pillow returned with marks, stains, or noticeable damage will be returned to you.

What is the Ergoflex LIFE TUNDRA® mattress protector?

The Ergoflex LIFE TUNDRA® mattress protector is a waterproof mattress protector designed to help protect your mattress from spills, moisture, and everyday wear, while maintaining breathability and sleep comfort. It acts as a protective barrier without compromising the feel or performance of your mattress, making it suitable for everyday use.

No. Ergoflex mattress protectors are designed to be low-profile and flexible, allowing your mattress to contour and respond as intended. The materials used promote airflow and minimise stiffness, ensuring the overall comfort and support of your mattress remain unchanged. They are also engineered to be quiet, with no crinkling noise or plastic feel during movement or sleep.

Can an Ergoflex mattress protector be used with any type of mattress, not just Ergoflex?

Yes. Ergoflex mattress protectors are designed to be compatible with all standard mattress types, not just Ergoflex mattresses. They can be used with memory foam, pocket spring, hybrid, latex, and traditional sprung mattresses. The protector is designed to fit mattresses up to 25?cm deep, and its low-profile, flexible construction allows the mattress to contour and perform as intended without affecting comfort, support, or breathability.

Can I return an Ergoflex mattress protector?

Returns are accepted within 14 days, provided the mattress protector is returned at your own expense, unopened and in its original packaging. For hygiene reasons, we are unable to accept returns once a mattress protector has been opened or used.

What are Ergoflex sheets made from?

Ergoflex sheets are made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, chosen for its natural softness, breathability, and durability. The sheets are woven with a 370 thread count, carefully selected to provide year-round comfort without trapping heat or feeling heavy. This balance ensures the fabric remains soft to the touch, breathable in warmer months, and comfortable in cooler conditions.

Learn more about the Ergoflex Organic Sheets.

Will Ergoflex sheets fit any mattress, not just Ergoflex?

Yes. Ergoflex sheets are designed to fit standard mattress sizes, including mattresses with deeper profiles of up to 30?cm in height. The fitted sheets are constructed to stay securely in place while accommodating modern mattress depths, without excessive tension or slipping.

Do Ergoflex sheets come with a guarantee?

Returns are accepted within 14 days, provided the sheets and pillowcases are returned at your own expense, unopened and in their original packaging. For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on sheets or pillowcases once they have been opened.

The Ergoflex® Bed Base

Are Ergoflex bed bases made to order?

Yes. All Ergoflex upholstered bed bases are made to order and individually handcrafted to your specification. This approach allows us to maintain strict quality standards and tailor each bed base to your selected size, fabric, and design rather than mass-producing and importing stock items.

Do you deliver Ergoflex bed bases Australia wide?

At this time, Ergoflex bed bases are delivered only to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, and Newcastle.

Unfortunately, bed bases are large, heavy items, and delivering outside these areas significantly increases freight costs and the risk of damage in transit. To ensure your bed base arrives safely and in perfect condition, we’ve limited delivery to metro areas where we can reliably manage transport and handling.

Is the Ergoflex bed base easy to assemble?

Yes. Ergoflex bed bases are designed to make assembly as simple and stress-free as possible. Most customers only need to attach the feet and position the headboard, with no complex tools or technical skills required. For added convenience, a professional assembly service is also available.

How are Ergoflex bed bases delivered?

Once production is complete, your bed base is delivered via a specialist furniture delivery courier and scheduled directly with you. Delivery options include carry into your home, and assembly can be arranged for an additional fee. This ensures your bed base arrives safely and can be set up with minimal effort.

Do Ergoflex bed bases come with a guarantee?

Yes. All Ergoflex bed bases come with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing faults and defects under normal residential use. This warranty reflects the quality of materials and craftsmanship used in every Ergoflex bed base.

Can I return an Ergoflex bed base?

As Ergoflex bed bases are custom made to your individual specification, returns for change of mind are not available. We recommend carefully reviewing all size, fabric and design selections before placing your order.
