The Ergoflex 5G is a premium visco-elastic memory foam mattress designed to provide consistent support, pressure relief, and spinal alignment.
Comparable to Tempur®, it features a 9cm layer of high-density memory foam, combined with a Cool-Sleep™ airflow system and a stable support base, to deliver a balanced medium-firm feel and long-lasting performance.
You can view the full Ergoflex 5G mattress details to learn more about its construction, materials, and suitability for different sleepers.
The Ergoflex 5G has a medium-firm feel, rated at approximately 6-7 out of 10 on the firmness scale.
This firmness level offers a balance of comfort and support, helping keep the spine aligned while still allowing the mattress to contour naturally to your body.
This combination suits a broad range of sleep preferences, which is why customers in Australia and the UK find the feel comfortable and supportive over time.
The Ergoflex mattress is best suited for people seeking supportive comfort and effective pressure relief.
It is commonly chosen by:
Ergoflex is also well suited to those looking for strong value for money, offering the quality and performance typically associated with premium in-store brands, without the compromises often found in lower-quality boxed mattresses.
The Ergoflex 5G memory foam mattress is compatible with most standard bed frames and bases, including:
For optimal comfort, support, and durability, we recommend using a firm, supportive base. If using a slatted bed frame, evenly spaced slats help prevent sagging and ensure the mattress performs as intended. Using an appropriate bed base also helps maintain mattress longevity and supports warranty coverage.
If you’re unsure whether your existing bed frame is suitable, please call us on 1300 791 753 or contact us.
Yes. The Ergoflex mattress provides even support and balanced pressure relief, which helps promote a neutral sleeping position and reduce uneven pressure on the spine.
Ergoflex has been recognised through industry awards and is recommended by a wide range of health and wellness practitioners across Australia, including those working in physical therapy, chiropractic, and musculoskeletal care.
Many people choose Ergoflex for its ability to deliver consistent, everyday sleeping comfort and support that may help reduce back discomfort.
If you’d like to learn more about how the Ergoflex Mattress supports sleepers with back pain and promotes better spinal alignment, you can explore our back pain mattress guide.
Most people adjust to an Ergoflex mattress within 2-4 weeks.
This adjustment period allows the body to adapt to improved spinal support and pressure relief, particularly for sleepers switching from softer or spring based mattresses.
That’s exactly why we offer a 30-night trial, giving your body enough time to adjust and ensuring the mattress truly feels right for you in your own home.
Memory foam mattresses typically last longer than traditional spring mattresses, especially when higher?density foams are used. On average, a quality memory foam mattress can provide comfortable support for 10–12 years, while many spring mattresses begin to show signs of sagging or uneven support sooner as coils lose tension over time.
High?density memory foam is less prone to structural breakdown because it distributes body weight evenly rather than relying on individual pressure points. This helps maintain consistent support and comfort across the mattress surface for longer compared to lower?quality foam or coil?based constructions.
Memory foam mattresses offer superior body contouring and pressure relief compared to traditional spring or hybrid mattresses.
Compared to spring or hybrid designs, memory foam provides:
Unlike traditional spring mattresses, which can weaken over time as coils lose tension and begin to sag, memory foam mattresses are designed to distribute body weight evenly and maintain their shape for longer.
The main difference between memory foam and latex mattresses lies in how they are made and how they respond to the body.
Because of these differences, memory foam is often preferred for pain relief, pressure reduction, and motion isolation, while latex suits sleepers who prefer a more springy, responsive feel.
The Ergoflex 5G differs from most mattress-in-a-box brands through its deeper memory foam layer and premium construction.
Key differences include:
These features result in a more supportive and longer-lasting sleep experience than many boxed alternatives.

Yes. Ergoflex offers a 30-night home sleep trial, allowing you to experience the Ergoflex mattress under real home sleeping conditions before committing.
This gives your body time to adjust and helps you decide if the mattress suits your comfort and support needs in real-world conditions.
Thirty nights is generally enough time for most people to determine whether a mattress suits their body and sleep preferences, including an adjustment period when transitioning from a different mattress type.
In many cases, extended trial periods can lead to higher mattress prices due to increased return costs. We keep pricing straightforward rather than building the cost of longer trials into the product.
Yes. It’s free to return your Ergoflex mattress from most metropolitan areas. Returns from regional areas are also possible but may be subject to a return fee.
The 30-night trial and free return service is limited to one mattress return per household.
This helps us keep our pricing fair while still offering a genuinely risk-free trial.
For more detailed information about delivery, costs, and timeframes, please see Ergoflex Delivery.
Free returns are available from most metropolitan areas. If you live outside a metro area, return costs may apply and would be deducted from your refund.
As delivery areas vary, we recommend checking your postcode on our Delivery page or contacting our team to confirm whether return fees apply to your address before purchasing.
To ensure a fair and meaningful trial, the mattress must be used for the full 30 nights before a return can be processed.
This adjustment period is important, as it allows your body time to adapt to a new mattress, particularly when transitioning to memory foam. Many initial comfort concerns resolve naturally during this period, helping you make a more informed decision based on real sleep experience rather than first impressions.
Once the 30-night trial period has been completed, clear and simple instructions are provided to guide you through the return process if needed.
All returned mattresses must be clean, hygienic, and free from stains. Mattresses that are damaged, or soiled will not be accepted and may be returned to you.
Using an Ergoflex mattress protector during the trial period is strongly recommended to help protect the mattress and ensure return eligibility.
No. The mattress does not need to be returned in its original packaging. Once unboxed, mattresses cannot be compressed again.
If you decide to return your mattress, we will send you a large protective bag to place the mattress in, helping keep it clean and protected during its return journey to us.
Returned mattresses are never resold as new.
Where suitable, returned mattresses are donated to charitable organisations, including women’s refuges, or repurposed for use in caravans or short-stay accommodation such as Airbnbs. When reuse isn’t possible, mattresses are recycled or disposed of responsibly.
This allows returned mattresses to be put to good use while minimising waste wherever possible.
Refunds are processed once the return has been completed and confirmed. Processing times depend on the original payment method and banking timeframes.
The Ergoflex mattress is designed to provide balanced support, pressure relief, and durability using high-density memory foam rather than springs or soft comfort foams.
Instead of offering multiple models with minor variations, Ergoflex focuses on a single refined design that delivers consistent comfort, long-term performance, and value.
Learn more about the Ergoflex Mattress.
The Ergoflex mattress is made from high-density memory foam, layered to create a supportive and comfortable sleep surface.
Unlike many boxed mattresses that use off-the-shelf foam formulations, Ergoflex uses a custom-specified memory foam developed specifically for our mattress design. This allows us to control how the foam responds to weight, pressure, and temperature, rather than relying on generic foams used across multiple brands.
Each layer of our mattress plays a specific role in weight distribution, pressure relief, and durability, helping the mattress maintain its shape, support, and feel over time.
Memory foam density affects how supportive, durable, and long-lasting a mattress will be.
Higher-density foam generally offers better pressure relief and resists sagging for longer, which is why memory foam mattresses can vary significantly in quality and price.
For more information, read our guide to memory foam.
Unlike inner spring mattresses, which rely on coils that push back against your body, the Ergoflex memory foam mattress contours to your shape and distributes weight more evenly.
This helps reduce pressure points on areas such as the shoulders, hips, and lower back, while also providing a more stable sleep surface. Many sleepers find this especially beneficial for comfort, support, and reduced movement disturbance, particularly for side sleepers and couples.
Yes. The Ergoflex mattress is designed to absorb movement at its source, which helps minimise motion transfer across the mattress.
This means movements such as turning over or getting in and out of bed are far less likely to travel across the sleep surface, reducing disruption to a partner. This makes Ergoflex a popular choice for couples and light sleepers.
The Ergoflex mattress is designed to provide supportive comfort without excessive heat retention.
It features a breathable Tencel® cover and a dedicated Cool-Sleep™ airflow system that allows for airflow and temperature regulation. The high-density memory foam also responds gradually to body weight and temperature, helping avoid the overly soft or ‘sinking’ feel that can restrict airflow and trap heat in lower-quality foams.
Most customers find this combination creates a more stable and comfortable sleep temperature throughout the night.
Yes. The Ergoflex mattress is suitable for use with adjustable and electric bed bases, as well as most standard bed frames.
Its flexible foam construction allows the mattress to bend and move smoothly with the base without compromising comfort, support, or structural integrity.
Thousands of customers across Australia successfully use their Ergoflex mattress in this way.
The Ergoflex mattress is hypoallergenic and naturally resistant to dust mites and common allergens.
This makes it a suitable option for people who prefer a cleaner sleeping environment and want to minimise exposure to allergy-related irritants in the bedroom.
Yes. All foams used in Ergoflex mattresses are CertiPUR-US® certified, confirming they meet strict standards for material safety, low emissions, and responsible manufacturing.
Ergoflex is also a European mattress retailer by design, and our mattresses are developed and tested to meet European quality and safety standards, which are widely regarded as among the most stringent mattress standards in the world.
Together, these certifications and testing requirements help ensure the materials used in Ergoflex mattresses meet high benchmarks for durability, emissions, and overall product safety.
The Ergoflex mattress is designed to comfortably support individuals weighing up to 114kg, or a combined sleeper weight of up to 190kg.
It features a dense, high-resilience foam base engineered to provide stability, durability, and even weight distribution across the mattress surface. This design helps maintain consistent support and comfort when used within the recommended weight guidelines.
While we do have customers of equal or greater stature who use the Ergoflex mattress, those who exceed these guidelines may find the mattress feels slightly softer and may sleep warmer due to increased foam compression. Use outside these guidelines may also place the mattress outside the scope of the Ergoflex warranty.
Please refer to the Ergoflex warranty for more information.
With appropriate care and a suitable, supportive bed base, the Ergoflex mattress is designed to provide many years of consistent comfort and support.
The Ergoflex™ 5G is constructed using high-density visco-elastic memory foam, selected specifically for its durability and ability to retain shape and performance over time. This higher-density foam resists sagging better than lower-density alternatives commonly found in mass market mattresses-in-a-box, helping maintain supportive properties over the long term.
The quality of these materials is backed by our 10-year guarantee on every Ergoflex mattress. This warranty isn’t just a claim, it has been tried and tested by real customers since 2006, making Ergoflex one the longest-established memory foam mattress-in-a-box brands in Australia. Many customer reviews come from people who have slept comfortably on their Ergoflex mattresses for well over 10 years, reflecting the long-term durability of its design.
Price variations are largely driven by differences in foam density, material quality, and overall construction.
Lower-priced memory foam mattresses often use softer, lower-density foams that may wear out more quickly. Higher quality mattresses typically use denser foams designed to maintain support, comfort, and durability over time, offering better long-term value.
Yes. The Ergoflex 5G mattress has a height of 23cm, so it fits standard fitted sheets with ease.
Most sheets designed for mattresses of this size will fit comfortably. Our own Ergoflex Organic Sheet Sets are specifically designed to pair perfectly with the Ergoflex mattress.
The mattress is also compatible with most standard bed frames and bases, including slatted, ensemble, and electric.
Your Ergoflex mattress and your night’s sleep is an investment worth protecting. With simple, regular care, your mattress will continue to deliver the comfort, support, and performance it was designed for over many years.
Everyday life can bring unexpected spills, pets sharing the bed, or the occasional late-night accident. Even moisture from humidity and perspiration can affect a mattress over time if left unprotected.
To protect your mattress we recommend purchasing the Ergoflex-LIFE™ Tundra Mattress Protector. Fully waterproof, breathable and natural, Ergoflex-LIFE™ is the best way to guard your Ergoflex memory foam mattress from the realities of everyday life.
No. Ergoflex memory foam mattresses are single-sided by design and should not be flipped.
Unlike traditional spring mattresses that rely on coils and may require flipping to reduce uneven wear, the Ergoflex mattress is constructed with a layered design. The visco-elastic memory foam comfort layer is built to sit on top, with the supportive base layers beneath. Flipping the mattress would compromise its comfort and support.
Yes. To promote even wear and help maintain optimal performance, we recommend rotating your Ergoflex mattress head-to-toe (180°):
This simple step helps distribute body weight more evenly across the sleep surface and supports the long-term durability of the memory foam. Using the mattress without periodic rotation may impact performance over time and can affect warranty coverage. For full warranty terms, please refer to our Guarantee & Registration.
No. The memory foam core itself should never be washed or soaked, as doing so can damage the internal structure of the mattress.
However, the Ergoflex 5G features a removable TENCEL® outer cover, which can be:
For ongoing protection against liquid damage and everyday accidents, using the Ergoflex-LIFE Tundra mattress protector is strongly recommended. This helps preserve hygiene while minimising the need to remove and wash the cover frequently.
Yes. Replacement outer covers for Ergoflex mattresses are available in all sizes.
At this time, replacement covers are not sold directly through our website. If you need a replacement cover due to wear, damage, or loss, please contact us directly and can assist you with availability, sizing, and ordering.
Using a genuine Ergoflex replacement cover ensures the mattress continues to perform as intended, maintaining breathability, comfort, and proper fit.
Unlike traditional spring mattresses, which have hollow interiors that can trap dust, skin cells, and moisture, Ergoflex memory foam mattresses use a solid, layered core design. This construction is far less hospitable to dust mites and other allergens.
In addition:
Regularly washing the removable cover, using a breathable mattress protector, and rotating the mattress as recommended will help maintain a clean and healthy sleep environment.
You don’t need to air your Ergoflex mattress before using it. It can be slept on the same night it’s unpacked.
Once removed from its packaging, simply place the mattress on a suitable bed base and allow it to begin expanding. While the mattress will be comfortable and ready for use straight away, it may continue to fully expand and settle over the following 24 hours.
Any mild “new mattress” smell is harmless and temporary, and will naturally dissipate with normal room ventilation. Keeping the room aired and the bedding off for a short period can help this process, but it isn’t required before sleeping on the mattress.
The Ergoflex mattress should be used on a supportive, flat bed base to ensure correct performance and longevity.
Suitable bases include:
Slats should be in good condition and spaced closely enough to provide even support across the mattress surface. Using an unsuitable or damaged base can affect comfort, performance, and durability, and may impact warranty coverage. For best results, ensure your base is sturdy, level, and designed to properly support a memory foam mattress.
If your mattress becomes wet, act promptly to minimise moisture exposure:
The memory foam layers should never be saturated, as excess moisture can damage the internal structure. Using a breathable, waterproof mattress protector is the best way to guard against spills, accidents, and everyday moisture.
To keep your Ergoflex mattress performing at its best and remain within warranty guidelines, we recommend:
Following these care guidelines helps ensure even wear, maintains comfort and support, and protects your warranty. Full warranty terms can be found in our Guarantee & Registration.
Yes, the Ergoflex mattress can be transported when moving house, provided it is handled with care.
When transporting your mattress, we recommend:
The mattress should not be re-compressed or vacuum sealed once unpacked, as this differs from the controlled factory compression process and may damage the internal foam structure. Improper handling during transport can affect the mattress’s performance and may impact warranty coverage.
If you need to store your Ergoflex mattress for a period of time, it’s important to do so correctly to protect its structure and performance.
We recommend storing the mattress:
The mattress should not be folded, bent, or stored on its side for extended periods, as this can affect the memory foam layers over time. For best results, keep the mattress uncovered or loosely covered with a breathable fabric to allow airflow during storage.
Correct storage helps maintain the integrity of the foam and ensures the mattress performs as intended when returned to use.
To remain within warranty guidelines and ensure your Ergoflex mattress performs as intended, it’s important to follow a few simple care and usage requirements.
These include using the mattress on a suitable, supportive bed base, rotating it as recommended, keeping it clean and dry, and avoiding misuse. We also strongly recommend using the Ergoflex mattress protector to guard against liquid damage and general wear.
Following these guidelines helps ensure even wear, maintains comfort and support, and protects your warranty coverage. Full warranty terms can be found in our 10-Year Guarantee.
The Ergoflex 10-year warranty covers manufacturing faults and material defects that arise under normal household use.
This includes issues relating to workmanship or the integrity of the mattress materials when the product has been used correctly and in accordance with care and support guidelines. The warranty reflects the high-quality materials and construction used in every Ergoflex mattress.
The warranty does not cover:
These exclusions are standard across mattress warranties and help ensure the warranty applies fairly and consistently.
The warranty covers defects that go beyond normal and expected use. Over time, it is natural for mattresses to show some degree of body impression, particularly in areas of regular use.
However, significant sagging caused by a manufacturing fault may be assessed under warranty, provided the mattress has been used correctly, supported properly, and maintained in line with the care guidelines. All warranty assessments are conducted in accordance with the terms outlined in our Guarantee.
Yes. Using your Ergoflex mattress on an unsuitable, damaged, or unsupportive bed base can affect both performance and warranty coverage.
Your mattress should be placed on a flat, stable base that provides consistent support across the entire surface. Improper use or using it without adequate support may impact warranty eligibility.
The Ergoflex mattress is designed to comfortably support individuals weighing up to 114kg, or a combined sleeper weight of up to 190kg. Use beyond these guidelines may affect performance over time and can place the mattress outside the scope of warranty coverage.
While some customers above these limits may still find the mattress comfortable, exceeding the recommended weight limits can result in increased foam compression, which may impact durability and long-term support.
Yes. To ensure your warranty is activated and to make any future claims easier, we recommend registering your Ergoflex mattress shortly after purchase.
Registration confirms your ownership details and allows our support team to assist you more efficiently if warranty service is ever required. Registration details and instructions are available in our Guarantee & Registration.
No. The Ergoflex warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable if the mattress is sold, gifted, or transferred to another owner.
This ensures warranty coverage remains clear and consistent, and that claims can be properly assessed against original purchase records.
With appropriate care and proper support, an Ergoflex mattress is designed to deliver many years of consistent comfort and support.
The use of high-density visco-elastic memory foam helps the mattress retain its structure and performance longer than lower-density alternatives commonly found in mass-market mattresses. Many Ergoflex customers report sleeping comfortably on their mattresses well beyond the 10-year mark, reflecting the durability of the materials and the long?term refinement of the Ergoflex design.
Buying a mattress online can feel like a big decision, especially if you’re used to testing beds in a store. With Ergoflex, that uncertainty is reduced by a combination of proven design, real-world experience, and a risk-free home trial.
Ergoflex has been helping people sleep better since 2006, making it one of the longest-established memory foam mattress brands in Australia. Unlike brands that frequently change models, Ergoflex focuses on refining a single mattress design, now in its fifth generation, based on long-term customer feedback and performance.
Your body also needs time to adjust to a new mattress, something a quick showroom test can’t always replicate. Sleeping on a mattress in your own home allows you to properly experience its comfort, support, and feel over consecutive nights. That’s why every Ergoflex mattress comes with a 30-night home trial, so you can decide with confidence.
Ergoflex is also backed by thousands of genuine customer reviews, many from people who have slept on their Ergoflex mattresses for years.
Yes. All Ergoflex Australian mattress sizes come with a 30-night home trial, allowing you to experience the mattress in your own home before making a final decision.
We ask customers to sleep on the mattress for the full trial period, as it can take time for your body to adjust to a new sleep surface. If you have any concerns during the trial, our team is available to assist.
Eligibility and return conditions vary by product and location. View full details about how the 30-night trial works, including eligibility and return conditions.

From the beginning, our goal has been to simplify and improve the mattress-buying experience.
By selling directly to customers instead of through retail stores, we avoid the high overheads associated with showrooms, commissions, and middlemen. This allows us to focus our investment on:
Any savings are passed directly on to our customers - without compromising product quality.
We’ve chosen not to rely on venture capital or large advertising budgets, as this cost ultimately gets passed on to customers.
Instead, Ergoflex has grown through word-of-mouth and customer recommendations, supported by long-term product performance and service. Many customers discover us through reviews or personal referrals, something we value highly.
You can read verified feedback and real customer experiences in our Customer Reviews.
Many mattress brands offer multiple models and firmness options in an attempt to cater to everyone. Over time, this often leads to compromise — thinner comfort layers, frequent model changes, and designs that are optimised for marketing rather than long?term performance.
Ergoflex takes a different approach. Instead of creating multiple mattresses, we focus on perfecting one proven design.
The Ergoflex™ 5G has been refined over multiple generations using real?world customer feedback and long?term performance data, rather than short?term trends. Its carefully balanced construction is designed to support a wide range of sleeping positions, body types, and comfort preferences without the need for softer or firmer variations.
Memory foam also behaves differently from traditional spring systems. It responds to body weight and temperature, allowing the mattress to contour and adapt naturally to each sleeper. This adaptability reduces the need for multiple firmness options, as the mattress adjusts to the individual rather than forcing the sleeper to fit a fixed feel.
By concentrating on a single, high?quality mattress, Ergoflex is able to use higher?density materials, maintain consistent quality, and avoid unnecessary complexity. The result is a mattress that has stood the test of time, with many customers sleeping comfortably on their Ergoflex mattresses for a decade or more.
Buying a mattress is a long-term decision, and the quality of your experience depends just as much on who you buy from as the product itself.
Ergoflex was established well before the recent rise of online mattress start-ups. Unlike many newer brands that are still refining their products or focused on rapid growth, we bring:
This experience allows us to focus on consistent quality, durability, and customer support, rather than short-term trends or aggressive marketing. For you, that means greater confidence in the product, the warranty, and the company behind it.
Ergoflex® is the original premium mattress-in-a-box brand, established in 2006 and launched in Australia in 2010.
We pioneered the direct-to-consumer mattress model that much of the industry now follows, combining premium materials with transparent pricing and traditional customer service.
Today, we offer a range of carefully designed sleep products, including:
Ergoflex has been operating in Australia since 2010, making us the country’s longest-established boxed mattress brand.
When we launched, high-quality memory foam mattresses were often overpriced and out of reach for many consumers. We introduced Australia’s first mattress-in-a-box concept to make premium sleep more accessible, without compromising on materials or service.
We’re proud that Ergoflex has now been trading longer than the length of our 10-year warranty, something no other mattress-in-a-box brand worldwide can claim. That longevity gives customers added confidence that our products, and our business, stand the test of time.
Ergoflex Australia is locally owned and operated, with our team based in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Our customer support and distribution are managed here in Australia, and we deliver our products Australia wide.
While our Australian business operates independently, the Ergoflex brand was originally established in the UK in 2006. This means our customers benefit from local Australian service and support, combined with the experience, product development, and heritage of a long-established international brand.
From day one, we’ve believed that buying a mattress online should still feel personal, informed, and supported and not transactional or rushed.
Our team takes the time to listen and understand what each customer is looking for, whether that’s help choosing the right mattress, understanding how our sleep products work, or getting support after purchase. We aim to provide clear, honest advice rather than scripted sales responses, so customers can make decisions with confidence.
Support doesn’t stop once an order is placed. We’re here before and after purchase to answer questions, assist with delivery or setup, and ensure every customer feels looked after throughout their Ergoflex experience.
Our team is available 7 days a week, from 8am to 8pm, and you’re always welcome to call us to speak directly with a real person. We pride ourselves on providing knowledgeable, friendly support and taking the time to understand what you’re looking for.

Many companies charge higher product prices or manufacture their products at a cheaper price in order to absorb free delivery, free returns and disposal of your current mattress. Essentially when companies provide free collection and disposal a customer regardless of where they live is often paying the average of the maximum disposal cost in order for a company to absorb these fees in their prices.
Because not everyone requires this service we do not take your old mattress away. This results in savings that we pass directly on to you. However if you Google mattress recyclers in your area (metropolitan) you may find a range of companies that can take away your old mattress for a small fee. Two companies that we do recommend are Mattress Recycle Australia covering Sydney and the Illawarra and Soft Landing whom cover Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle and Perth. Both these organisations can collect your old mattress for as little as $50.
In addition to our range of Australian standard sized memory foam mattresses, we stock and can deliver the following UK sizes:
UK Standard King-Size (dimensions: 150cm x 200cm x 23cm), European King-Size (dimensions: 160cm x 200cm x 23cm) and the UK Standard Super-King-Size (dimensions: 180cm x 200cm x 23cm).
Please contact us for further information or visit our UK size memory foam mattress page for pricing and availability.
Yes, the memory foam pillow is guaranteed against defects of workmanship or materials for a period of two years. Returns period is 14 days.
Yes you can. You must contact us within 14 days should you wish to return your pillow(s). All pillows must be returned within 30 days and returned at your own expense.
