We all know that you spend a third of our lives in bed. Generally when people discuss this they are talking about the need for a good mattress, but it is equally important to have a good pillow under your head for that entire third of your life! Here are some signs that it time to get a new pillow.
Sign Number One: You are waking up with a sore neck. The pillow should be cushioning your neck and if you have started to get a sore neck, then it is probably time to get a new pillow.
Sign Number Two: If your pillow is a down or feather pillow, then fold it in half, if it doesn’t spring back, then you need a new pillow.
Sign Number Three: If your pillow is made of synthetic fibres then you should place it in a hard, flat surface and fold the pillow in half to push out the air. Put something like a shoe on it, if it doesn’t throw the shoe off, it is a sign you need a new pillow.
Sign Number Four: If your pillow is a foam or latex pillow, then you should take the case off and push hard with your hand into the centre of the pillow. If your hand print doesn’t disappear quickly, then it is a sign you need a new pillow.
