Getting blood out of a memory foam mattress

15-05-2012

Just because your memory foam mattress was designed by NASA to help protect its astronauts during re-entry and  was initially intended as the best material for cushioning human bodies in crashes, doesn’t mean that your memory foam mattress is invincible! Sure it is more durable and will last longer than any other kind of mattress, sure it will not suck in all the mites and dust that cause allergies like other mattress, but in the end, even this mighty mattress material needs some TLC.

If for some reason you get blood on your memory foam mattress then it is going to need immediate attention, time is of the essence so act quick. First take the Jacquard cover off and get it in the wash. Then go and mix up a potion of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide as this will help to break the blood up. Poor the potion onto the affected area and let it soak in. After the majority of it has gone from then surface sponge the remaining mixture off.

Getting the mattress totally dry will be the biggest problem, if it is cold then put a heater on in the room and you can even use a hairdryer on the lowest heat.
