For some, sleeping is a breeze, they just hope into bed and fall asleep, simple as that. Those lucky people are the envy of people who have real trouble going to sleep. Fortunately for those sleepless many, there are things to help you sleep.
The main thing is to try and ensure that you go to bed at around the same time every night, sleep for about the same length of time and wake up around the same time every morning. Regularity is the key to sleeping well. The body needs to have a pattern as it has its own body cycle. If you keep chopping and changing then your body will not be able to develop and maintain its natural cycle.
One of the things to help you sleep that many people use is alcohol. However, this is not a good idea as even though it will help you go to sleep, the sleep you will get will not be as recuperative as a normal sleep.
On the other hand, a nice cup of herbal tea, like chamomile, is great for helping you get to sleep and will not affect the quality of your sleep.
If you are still struggling then you may want to learn how to meditate, as many insomniacs have discovered the power of controlling the mind through relaxation techniques.
Good luck, and good night.
