Did you know that 1 in 24 people fall asleep at the wheel? That is an incredibly scary statistic and one that we should all be worried about. Just think, that person controlling the tonne and a half or so of metal coming toward you at 50 kmhs or so could be nodding off right now. It is enough to give you nightmares.
Sleep disorders are a massive problem and many people are unaware that they are suffering from one until it is too late. If you have fallen asleep behind the wheel before, even if only for a second or two, then you may have one of the many different sleep disorders. The best thing to do is go and see an expert as they will be able to diagnose you.
Don’t leave it until it is too late as the consequences could be terrible, sleep disorders effect about one in four people and can have a wide range of detrimental impacts on mental and physical wellbeing, from depression and weight gain through to memory problems and hallucinations. Take charge now and seek help before it is too late and if you need to sleep then pull over.
