Virtually every aspect of live has been well and truly commercialised. Think of toilet paper. There is really not a lot of difference between the various brands and types for sale. It is all just toilet paper in the end, but to sell it the companies go to incredible lengths to differentiate their product from others, think of the pointless embossing and perfuming, the ads to tell you how this type has a waffle weave or is super absorbent. This is all commercialised speak to sell a product.
Sleep is undergoing an intensive commercialisation process at the moment. We are only just beginning to see signs of this in Australia, but as the Americans refine it you can be sure that you will be seeing more and more sleep related products on your TVs and computers in the near future.
What this means is that there will be more products being touted as sleep aides and sleep enhancers. The reality will be the most of these products will do little to nothing, they are simply gimmicks and gadgets that do little to help you sleep.
Like most things, the most simple and obvious are the best. To get a good night’s sleep you need a good quality mattress, a dark and quiet room and 7-8 hours of uninterrupted time.
